I’m not sure how it is where you are, but here in the Washington, DC area we’ve been having some amazing spring-like weather. Cabin fever is real, but this has been a treat and I’m so ready for this weather to be here to stay! You might be in an area of the country where the spring-like weather hasn’t arrived yet, but that’s okay because I am going to give you a couple of quick tips on how you can bring a little bit of that spring vibe into your home.
3 Tips for Bringing Spring into Your Home: Tip # 1 - DRAPES
The days are starting to get longer and the sun is starting to get higher in the sky, now is a great time to start taking advantage of that. Try switching out your drapes into a material that’s light and reflective. I love white drapes, but if you’re afraid of white just try a light and cool color that will reflect the light instead of absorb it. Sheers are also a great option especially since it is starting to get warmer outside and you don’t really need the heavy draping anymore.

Another way to bring spring into your home is to start to add florals in. Even though it isn’t quite spring you are still able to get some beautiful fresh flowers from your local grocery store. One of my favorite places to purchases fresh flowers is Trader Joe's, they always have a beautiful selection. If you’re not into fresh flowers you can visit your local craft store and pick your favorite spring blooms and create your own arrangement or visit a home décor store and get a prearranged floral centerpiece. It’s really amazing what just having flowers in your home can do for creating a spring atmosphere.

Color makes a big impact on an atmosphere and your mood. Light, bright and airy colors can really create a spring feel in your home and give you a sense of refresh and renewal. You can switch out simple things like throw pillow, throw blankets, artwork, and even paint colors if you really want to make an impact.
