Asha Maía Maxey
Asha Maxey, founder and principal designer of Asha Maía Design, is an award-winning Northern Virginia interior designer known for creating homes with depth, cohesion, and lasting beauty.
Her love for design began early, when she discovered how deeply interiors shape not just how a space looks, but how it feels — and how thoughtful design can elevate daily life.
Rooted in her Michigan upbringing, Asha developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, balance, and natural beauty. Growing up surrounded by open landscapes and changing seasons shaped her love for depth, richness, and interiors that feel both refined and welcoming. She blends openness with warmth, classic form with collected detail, layering texture, pattern, and color with intention.
A believer in romanticizing life, Asha designs spaces that support meaningful moments — gatherings around the table, music drifting through a room, the quiet ritual of candlelight at dusk. Her work is crafted as the backdrop for connection and everyday living, where beauty and function exist in thoughtful harmony.
Asha’s client-centered approach combines creative vision with strategic leadership. She shapes homes with continuity and depth, guiding each project with clarity from foundational planning through final installation.

The Studio
Asha Maía Design is a full-service interior design studio specializing in comprehensive, full-home and multi-room transformations.
We approach each project holistically, shaping interiors with continuity, depth, and intention. From spatial planning and finish selections to custom millwork, furnishings, lighting, and final styling, every layer is considered to ensure the home feels cohesive from the ground up.
Our studio partners closely with trusted trades, builders, and artisans, guiding each phase with clarity and precision. By overseeing both the foundational elements and the furnishings simultaneously, we ensure that every decision supports a unified vision rather than a collection of disconnected rooms.
We take on a select number of projects each year to provide a highly personalized, detail-driven experience. The result is a home that feels curated, enduring, and deeply aligned with the lives lived within it.
