What a wonderful weekend! It’s finally starting to look and feel like spring and the cherry on top was that I got to be a part of a beautiful couple, Ashley & Paul’s wedding day by styling their vintage romance wedding reception.

When I met with the bride those two words, vintage and romance, set my creative mind off immediately.  It was definitely clear that she had style, but just needed me to design and bring her vision life!  She wanted something intimate, beautiful and of course romantic.  When I think of romantic I immediately think of candles, candlelight and rose petals.  Blush is a hot color right now and to me, it’s so soft, very romantic and the perfect color to include with wedding decor.  The small venue where the reception took place lends itself well to the intimate feel the bride was going for with the cocktail style vintage romance wedding reception.  Check out some of the photos of their wedding decor:

Simple white Mr & Mrs cake on a classic cake pedestal.  Ivory Roses (Rosette) Table Linens as the backdrop with blush and ivory rose petals sprinkled about.

Candlelight sets the romantic mood so I created a wall of floating candles on this elongated table that served as a backdrop to the dance floor.

Roses are such a romantic flower and definitely help set the mood for this vintage romance themed wedding.  These pedestal vases were a perfect way to show off the ivory roses and give them their time to shine!

Since the reception was cocktail style I went with very simple centerpieces for the cocktail tables, using 2-3 rose stems, mixing the blush pink with the ivory.  I carried the candlelight onto the cocktail tables using floating candles in tea-dyed lace wrapped mason jars and votive candles.  Soft blush pinkish white uplights added a beautiful finishing touch to the room.

It was such a beautiful day, that turned into a beautiful night, that we had to extend the party to the outside patio.  The evening sunset added a romantic glow to the early hours of this vintage romance wedding reception.

Ashley & Paul’s wedding guests were welcomed into the reception by this beautiful distressed/vintage door with a quote selected by the bride.  This will later be hung in their home and serve as a wonderful wedding memento.

Last but not least, can’t forget those little ones.  This special place was created just for the kiddos in attendance.  Since it was a cocktail style reception there had to be a place for the kids to call their own.
