A Block Off King

Our A Block Off King project tells the story of a thoughtfully considered next chapter. Drawn to the energy and walkability of Old Town Alexandria, our clients chose a home just beyond the bustle of King Street as they prepared to downsize. While they appreciated the character and convenience of the neighborhood, their style leaned more contemporary, and they wanted their home to feel fresh, relaxed, and reflective of them rather than traditionally Old Town.

We introduced warmth, personality, and function through a layered mix of tailored furnishings, natural textures, and architectural enhancements. Custom built-ins transformed the richly colored home office, while existing built-ins in the living room and primary bedroom were thoughtfully reworked to feel more purposeful and cohesive. Updated fireplace facades, textural grasscloth in the primary bedroom, and a patterned grasscloth wallcovering in the dining room bring depth and distinction throughout. Carefully curated artwork, accessories, and styling details complete the home, creating a refined yet comfortable retreat that feels connected to its historic surroundings without being defined by them.
